14th-ranked Louisville routs Washington State | Women's basketball

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ? Sara Hammond scored 18 points as 14th-ranked Louisville routed Washington State 75-39 Tuesday night.

WSU (3-6) was held to its lowest point total of the season one game after beating then-No. 20 Ohio State 62-55 Saturday in Pullman.

The Cougars' previous low in scoring this season came in a 52-44 loss to Wisconsin on Nov. 18.

Lia Galdeira, selected Pac-12 freshman of the week Monday, led the Cougars with 13 points on 6-for-15 shooting. Senior guard Katie Grad, a former Auburn-Riverside High School standout, scored a season-high 11 points and was 4 for 5 from the field.

WSU shot 32 percent from the field, 18 percent (3 for 17) on three-point attempts and 29 percent (4 of 14) from the free-throw line. The Cougars added to their woes by making 24 turnovers.

Louisville (10-2) shot 46 percent and had a 46-34 rebounding advantage. The score was tied at 11 after 11:01 of play before the Cardinals closed the first half with a 24-3 run before a crowd of 7,341.

No. 10 Tennessee 53

The defending national-champion Bears (9-1) scored the first 17 points of the game, as the Vols (7-2) missed their first 11 shots from the field.

Baylor center Brittney Griner, who finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, had nine points before Tennessee scored. The Vols were down 41-16 at the break, the largest halftime deficit in the storied program's history.

"We just came out prepared and on fire," Griner said.
